Hello, and thank you for joining our little Doctor-obsessed corner of the internet! We've just migrated from LJ, so please grab a drink, pull up a chair next to the console and get to know your other TARDIS mates! Don't let the Adipose trick you into feeding him though - he hasn't long eaten!

We don't ask for a great deal on this community; we want people to have fun, share the love, make friends and join discussions. Opinions are valued here - even differences of opinion - but character/actor/writer/producer bashing is not. We all have a Doctor, companion, monster or show era that we dislike, but please do not lay into any member who doesn't like *your* Doctor, companion, monster or era; this would be very Uncool.

Now... if you have your fezes, mops and bow-ties at the ready (or a stetson if you were lucky enough to recieve one at Christmas) please feel free to play in comments and tell us what you thought of the Christmas special.

I saw your post on dw_community_promo and thought you might find it helpful to promo on fandom_on_dw as well! They have a community announcements form! Also, if you run any events, fandomcalendar might come in handy. :)

My little girl subscribes to Doctor Who Adventures magazine, and her free gift a few weeks ago was a giant pen with an enormous madam Vastra on it. She thought it was really funny how excited I got.

Mind you, she (as an eight year old) has a huge collection of action figures which she does interesting things with. Idris is married to Morbius (yes, from The Brain of Morbius) and they go round for dinner at the house of the lesbian Zygon/Sea Devil couple that live down the track from Cthulhu on her train set...

My 15yo son loves Merlin, but he's aware of Doctor Who and I'm doing my best to inflict it on him!

A friend of mine posted me a Lego Madam Vastra because she had two of them; then my husband gave me Eleven and they've been happy together ever since :D

At some point I need to post photographs of my Geek Cabinet Of Awesome. You'll love it!

Two years ago my MiL gave me a TARDIS with lights and sound. I have it on top of my Geek Cabinet lying on its back, with my Raggedy Doctor figure knelt down peering out of it. My husband made a little grappling hook too, so the entire setup is fab!

I have also eaten Fish Custard! Watch and laugh :)

Tom Baker is my Doctor too - I grew up watching him - and I persuaded a friend to knit me a S15 scarf this year, which I love so much that I always store it in a ziplock bag when I'm not wearing it :)

Hey, there! Another community is good! Just wanted to let you know that you might give some thought to redoing your profile page here to eliminate cut instructions, etc that give LJ codes and substitute DW codes instead (e.g., the DW cut code instead of LJ's cut code.) You may just want to refer people to DW's help section for that kind of info --- it's written in an understandable fashion and you'd save yourself time and stress that way). Good luck with the comm!

Hi, other comm mod here. Thanks for the heads-up about the code - I'd set the comm up not long before the Xmas special aired and it slipped my mind to edit that section. I'm usually a bit more meticulous with that sort of thing, being a computer nerd and all. All fixed now. :)
