After an unexpected absence over Christmas (life decided to throw the mother of all curve balls and I completely forgot about it), the squee post returns for The Bells of St John at 6.15pm. We finally met Clara properly and there's monsters in the wifi. I think so on the latter, anyway - circumstances these past few months mean I haven't been paying as much attention to the series news as I usually do.
Squee, complain or dive behind the sofa.

Date: 2013-03-30 11:29 pm (UTC)I think what I liked most about this episode (aside from Clara being... well, Clara) was the fact that it had a very MIB feel to it. By which I mean the threat put the whole world in danger but only the protagonists were aware it of. Makes a change from "alien threatens the world: cue mass hysteria like you'd see in Power Rangers." Did get a bit of a GLaDOS vibe during the discussion about giving people immortality by uploading them.
I won't lie; part of me is a teensy bit disappointed that none of my neighbours have changed their router names tonight - the only reason I'm not is because there are way too many wi-fi devices in my house that would need the settings updating, and I'm the only one savvy enough to do it all without breaking anything. The Doctor's phone conversation with Clara? I've had that same one on way too many occasions.
I think the scariest part for me was when the boss (her name escapes me) reverts back to her pre-Great Intelligence self - I'd guessed it the moment I saw her sitting on the floor like that, but hearing her talk like a little girl was still unsettling.
And now off to bed, before I face-plant on my keyboard.
