Asylum of the Daleks Squee Post
Sep. 1st, 2012 04:57 pmAfter a long wait, Doctor Who is back and this comm comes out of its semi-hibernation.
Asylum of the Daleks is on at 7.20pm UK time, and 9.00pm for the US. If anyone remembers the other premiere times, let me know.
While we're waiting, why not catch up on Pond Life? (goes to the BBC's Doctor Who yt playlist. I don't know where any region-free uploads are) And if you hear a high-pitched noise during the episode, do not adjust your sets; it's just my brother the Dalek fanatic. I'll be spending the rest of the evening peeling him off the ceiling.
And as always: squee, complain or dive behind the sofa.
PS: True story - I was planning on kick-starting this place ready for the new serieds earlier this week, but I was thwarted by a combination of New Toy Syndrome (shiiiiiiny Cintiq...) and walking into a door.

Date: 2012-09-01 10:34 pm (UTC)1) Man, this episode had nightmare fuel out the wazoo. My train of thought basically went from "wait, have they Borg-ified the Daleks?" to "they've Borg-ified the Daleks and I am TERRIFIED." Okay, I should have seen the end coming, but considering who the actress was I can be forgiven for that. But the reveal and flashbacks were horrifying. I tell ya, there's gonna be a lot of nightmares tonight.
2) Most will probably agree with me here; Amy's reason for breaking up with Rory was awfully cliché. I won't call it sexist because in fairness this conversation was certainly very feasible and not out of nowhere. But, when it started, I honestly thought Amy would go down the line of being afraid to have more children after what happened with Melody, because not only would that have made complete sense, but also show Amy actually dealing emotionally with what was an utterly horrific experience.
Oh, and Oswin made the Daleks forget the Doctor. This is why you shouldn't have all your important information stored in the Cloud people; it makes you forget your worst enemies.
