According to a tweet from one of the official Dr. Who twitter accounts, Elisabeth Sladen, better known as Sarah Jane, has passed away. The Digital Spy article talks a bit more about it, but cites the same source.

We'll all miss you, Elisabeth Sladen. Thanks for entertaining and inspiring us for so many years.
